Dr Susan Rennie (DSW) is a Councillor and two-time Mayor at the City of Darebin in Melbourne’s north. Upon first being elected in 2016, one of her first votes as councillor was to endorse a declaration of a climate emergency, making Darebin the first local government to do so in the world. Outside of Council, Susan has worked in public health for the past two decades with a focus on gambling harm and family violence prevention and child and adolescent health and wellbeing.
Susan has significant experience in public policy and governance with past roles at the Victorian Local Governance Association, and as Statewide Director of Primary Care Partnerships. In addition to holding a Doctorate in Social Work, Susan is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a Fellow of Australian Progress where she strengthened her passion for community activism. Dr Susan Rennie is a founding member of the Alliance Board and previous Board Chair of both the Alliance and Women’s Health in the North.
